Independent developer wanted a simple way to recommend a reliable scanning companion to users of his open source Point of Sale (POS) system. Manual USB scanners created friction (driver issues, single device limits, lack of context data). He needed a cross platform, low maintenance solution that let contributors test quickly and store clean structured data. Barcode to PC became the bridge between smartphones in the field and a POS running on a desktop or laptop.

Client Goal: Rapidly capture sheets of 25 product serial numbers (sometimes 2×25) and send only codes beginning with INT
or IP
into existing outbound order workflows—using a single mobile action instead of 25+ individual scans.
Summary: A security services company supporting shrimp producers needed a reliable way to count ~100 daily feed bags from central warehouse reception to final pond usage. By scanning each bag and associating it with its destination pond, they replaced camera-based manual counting with a fast, auditable barcode workflow producing a structured CSV for daily reconciliation.
Summary: A logistics HVAC team replaced consumer Android phones (breaking under warehouse drops) with rugged Android PDA devices while keeping the Barcode to PC workflow. By switching input to Intent Broadcast, they gained faster laser scans, longer battery life, and lower total device replacement cost—without rewriting their barcode-to-desktop process.
Summary: An HVAC logistics team needed each invoice line to list the exact serial barcodes of shipped units. A focused Output Template plus duplicate prevention now lets them scan model + serial, confirm quantity, and feed the ERP via CSV—eliminating manual typing errors and accelerating fulfillment.
Muito bom, as leituras vão automaticamente. Mas para poucas coisas, demora um pouco selecionar e ler.
Thanks to Associazione Maggiolina’s YouTube video I discovered this great tool that allows any smartphone to become a barcode reader. Right now we did some offline tests only; we plan to use it as first during the next yearly practice of Lecco’s provincial Protezione Civile yearly practice that will involve about 700 volunteers. Based on tests we did I’m nearly sure it will be a success.
We recently used Barcode to PC at one of the biggest events focused on electric cars in Brazil. Without a doubt, it was the most practical and accessible solution we found for our accreditation system. We perform thousands of QR code scans to control check-in and Test Drive appointments. Furthermore, when we had questions, support was responsive and helpful. Everything went as expected. I highly recommend it!
Great product with a good price and great support. We use it in our warehouses, in our manufacturing department and we are happy. We scan codes, and send them to our MS SQL database. We setup the software with conditions, alerts, regular expressions and it is all working beautifully. Workers get new Android phones every 2 years, and we use old ones for barcode scanning. Cheap, easy and it just works.
